Preserving The Monks' Traditions

Monial is a champagne grower with a rich history dating back to the 12th century, founded by the Cistercian Monks of Clairvaux Abbey, and its roots can be traced to an extension of the an underground cellar. The cellar boasts magnificent Romanesque arches and rib vaulting, adding to the overall grandeur of this storied establishment.

Marina Chevalier is the current winemaker, she took over from her father in 2016, who still oversees key stages of the winemaking process to ensure that the vineyard's traditions are upheld.

The vineyard was planted in the 14th Century, an imprint of time on the prowess of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the region.

The vineyard is also home to a horse, sheep, chickens, pigs, and cats living on the farm, adding to the vineyard's charm and rustic character.

Delicious!! Such a wonderfully elegant & citrusy champagne! Great pick even for those who don't enjoy alcohol. We had this at a huge dinner event and it paired beautifully with the food.
